Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A Uzbekistan-Samara business forum was held in Samara on 7 August to discuss further cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia's Samara Region. The event brought together representatives of government bodies, business associations and more than 100 companies from the two sides. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan reported.

Uzbekistan was represented at the forum by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Odilkhon Rustamov, while the Russian side was represented by Valery Fomichev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Samara Region.

Participants included companies operating in automotive manufacturing, mechanical engineering, chemicals, light and food industries, construction, transport and logistics, information and communications technology, and tourism.

The forum focused on expanding trade and economic cooperation, developing industrial cooperation, attracting investment and increasing exports.

Speaking at the event, Rustamov said bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Russia had approached US$13 billion in 2025. He also noted that more than 3,000 enterprises with Russian capital operate in Uzbekistan and that the country has more than 40 special economic zones.

Following the forum, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Samara Region signed a cooperation memorandum.

Samara entrepreneurs were also presented with opportunities offered by a free economic zone focused on the Afghan market. The sides also agreed to organize a visit by a delegation of Samara business representatives to Uzbekistan in September.

A number of contracts and agreements were signed following B2B meetings.
