Uzbekistan and Malaysia Expand Biopharmaceutical Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Director of the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan Abdulla Azizov held a meeting with Datuk Mohd Ghazali Bin Hj Ahmad, founder of the Malaysian company GREENTACT HEALTHCARE SDN. BHD.
The parties discussed expanding cooperation in biopharmaceuticals, localizing high-tech production, and implementing new investment projects, the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan reported.
Special attention at the meeting was given to prospects for organizing the production of insulin and its analogues, as well as human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines, in Uzbekistan. In addition, participants reviewed opportunities for introducing modern technologies and implementing joint projects in the pharmaceutical industry.
The Malaysian side was presented with information regarding the potential of the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster, its manufacturing and research infrastructure, and the conditions created for investors.
During the meeting, information on current tax and customs incentives for investors was also presented. These conditions are being considered in the context of the further development of high-tech biopharmaceutical manufacturing in Uzbekistan.
Following the talks, the parties outlined areas for further cooperation related to localizing production, introducing modern technologies, and implementing investment projects.
The implementation of these initiatives is expected to support the expansion of high-tech biopharmaceutical production in Uzbekistan, increase the range of import-substituting goods, and strengthen international investment cooperation.
