Uzbekistan and Japan discuss legal and consular cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On May 28 in Tokyo, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev and Deputy Minister of Justice of Japan Hiroshi Morimoto.

During the talks, the sides reviewed issues related to the development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in legal and consular areas. The need to expand practical engagement between the relevant agencies of both countries was emphasized.

Special attention was given to migration issues, including external labor migration, as well as the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens.

The sides also discussed the development of direct contacts between consular institutions and the holding of the next round of consular consultations.
