Uzbekistan and Germany enhance state asset management cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting between the Director of Uzbekistan’s State Assets Management Agency and a delegation led by Dr. Andreas Kerst, Head of the Directorate for Management of State Shares and Equity in the transport and infrastructure sectors of Germany’s Federal Ministry of Transport, was held on 18 May as part of the “German Economy Day in Uzbekistan” conference.
The sides discussed the development of bilateral economic cooperation and improving the efficiency of state-owned enterprise management.
The talks focused on modernization and digitalization of state asset management systems in the transport and infrastructure sectors. Special attention was given to studying German experience and expanding private sector participation in the management of state enterprises, as well as improving their operational efficiency.
The sides also reviewed approaches to improving airport management and developing airport infrastructure using modern management models. In addition, prospects for expanding local production in the automotive industry and increasing industrial output were discussed.
Another key area of the talks was cooperation in personnel training. Discussions covered participation of Uzbek specialists in exchange programs at leading German organizations, upgrading qualifications of state asset management staff, and strengthening institutional cooperation.
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to continue regular expert dialogue and implement joint initiatives aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and improving the efficiency of state asset management.
