Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Uzbekistan with a delegation from the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), during which the two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in geology and the mining industry.

The talks took place on May 4 with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of the relevant ministry, Feruza Khamidova, senior officials of the ministry and its subordinate organizations, as well as a representative of the European Union in Uzbekistan.

The parties exchanged views on existing and potential areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology and the Finnish Geological Survey. The discussions focused on the implementation of joint projects and the expansion of technical and analytical collaboration in the sector.

Special attention was given to the DATA4CRM project, with participants considering possible mechanisms for its practical implementation and further development. No additional details about the project’s content were provided in the statement, but it was identified as one of the key areas of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was held in a working dialogue format with the participation of sector specialists, which is expected to contribute to strengthening international cooperation in geological research and the rational use of natural resources.
