Uzbekistan and EEC Agree to Speed Up New Cooperation Plan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and Minister for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Goar Barseghyan took place on 21 April.

During the talks, it was noted that Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union increased by 25% in 2025 and exceeded 20 billion US dollars. The share of the EAEU in Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade reached nearly 25%, while its share in exports stood at around 30%.

The parties discussed the implementation of a three-year action plan for 2024–2026, within which cooperation is already being coordinated through a joint working group. An agreement was reached to accelerate the preparation of a new cooperation plan for 2026–2028.

It was also agreed to hold the fifth meeting of the joint working group in Tashkent later this year, marking another step in expanding practical cooperation.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed on Uzbekistan’s participation in a new Digital Industry Portal and the development of cooperation through this platform, aimed at expanding industrial collaboration and digitalizing interactions between the parties.
