Uzbekistan and Chinese Firms Discuss Wind Equipment Production

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Within the framework of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov held a meeting with Wu Kai, Vice President of Goldwind Science & Technology, and Wang Xin, Vice President of Sinoma Science & Technology.

During the talks, the sides discussed the establishment of new industrial capacities in Uzbekistan for the production of high-tech equipment for the wind energy sector.

In particular, the discussions focused on projects for the production of hybrid reinforced concrete towers for wind power plants in the Kungrad district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and composite blades in the Zaamin district of the Jizzakh region.

The sides reached agreements to accelerate project implementation, expand industrial cooperation, and increase the level of local content in production.

It was noted that these initiatives would contribute to forming a local production chain in the wind energy sector. It was also emphasized that the project to organize the production of towers and composite blades would become one of the first large-scale facilities of its kind in Central Asia.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue joint work on expanding cooperation within energy projects and increasing the share of local content in manufacturing.
