Uzbekistan and China Discuss New Construction Technologies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan, Tohir Alimatov, held a meeting with a delegation from China to discuss the introduction of modern construction technologies aimed at increasing the energy efficiency and seismic resistance of buildings.

The Chinese delegation presented innovative construction materials and engineering solutions designed to improve the safety and energy efficiency of facilities. Specifically, they demonstrated lightweight, non-combustible thermal insulation boards for exterior walls, thermal insulation coatings, inter-floor sound insulation systems, and energy-saving materials for industrial pipelines.

The participants paid special attention to technologies for protecting buildings against earthquakes. The Chinese side presented buckling-restrained brace (BRB) seismic ties, which reduce the load on load-bearing structures during seismic events, alongside fluid viscous (FV) and fluid viscous wall (FVW) dampers designed to absorb seismic energy.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged experience regarding the application of these technologies in China. They also discussed design, practical implementation, testing procedures, current regulatory requirements, and the functioning of earthquake monitoring systems.

Following the talks, the participants reviewed the prospects for utilizing energy-efficient construction materials and modern seismic protection technologies in the construction industry of Uzbekistan, their compliance with national technical requirements, and opportunities for further expanding bilateral cooperation in this field.
