Uzbekistan and China Discuss Asia Trans Gas Operations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working meeting was held in Zhuhai, China, involving senior representatives of Uzbekistan’s energy sector and Chinese partner companies.

The talks included First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC “Uzbekneftegaz” Sukhrob Khamraev, Chairman of the Board of TAPLine Zhong Fang, and Deputy General Director of PetroChina International Co. Ltd. Wang Haiyang.

During the visit, participants reviewed the current state and future prospects of the joint venture “Asia Trans Gas.” The discussions focused on further expanding cooperation and improving the efficiency of joint energy projects.

The sides noted that cooperation between Uzbekneftegaz and TAPLine has been stable and effective in recent years. Special attention was given to the long-term successful operation of the Uzbek section of the “Central Asia–China” main gas pipeline.

The parties agreed on a set of measures aimed at increasing the joint venture’s revenues, strengthening its financial stability, and improving cost control mechanisms.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued mutually beneficial cooperation and long-term partnership development in the energy sector.
