Uzbekistan and Belarus Hold Regional Forum in Minsk

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The third Forum of Regions of Uzbekistan and Belarus took place in Minsk on 8 July 2026, focusing on the theme "Cooperation of Regions as a Driver of Economic Cooperation."

The plenary session was attended by the deputy prime ministers of the two countries, Jamshid Khodjayev and Yuri Shuleiko, alongside representatives from governments, regional administrations, relevant ministries, agencies, and business communities.

Forum participants noted that Belarus remains one of Uzbekistan's key strategic partners, and bilateral cooperation is becoming increasingly practical.

Primary attention was given to developing direct ties between regions, expanding industrial cooperation, and implementing joint manufacturing projects. During the discussions, it was emphasized that the economies of the two countries complement each other, creating conditions for the localization of production, the formation of value chains, and the promotion of products to third-country markets.

Following the forum, a ceremony was held for the signing of interregional documents, as well as investment and trade agreements.

The business program of the event included thematic sessions dedicated to industry, agriculture, the woodworking sector, furniture production, and social-humanitarian cooperation.
