Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The in-person stage of an educational program for employees of the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan has commenced in Saint Petersburg at the Academy of Leadership and Business Process Administration of the Federal Tax Service of Russia (FNS LAB). Thirty-six representatives from the Uzbek tax authority are participating in the training.

Yulia Shepeleva, the Deputy Head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, noted that the first stage of the program, conducted last year, confirmed the demand for this specialist training format. According to her, the participants demonstrated a high level of interest in the training, and the results achieved formed the basis for the further development of joint work.

Uktam Shamsiev, the Director of the Department for Analysis and Evaluation of Tax Administration at the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, thanked the Russian side for developing the specialized program. He announced that based on the results of last year's training, 20 initiatives were formulated and have already been implemented into the practical activities of the republic's tax authorities.

This year's program covers the application of international financial reporting standards, the development of effective negotiation skills, methods of persuasion, enhancing the personal effectiveness of civil servants, leadership, and the formation of highly effective teams. A separate section is dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence technologies in tax administration.

According to Yulia Shepeleva, all areas of training correspond to the current tasks facing modern tax administrations, which need to take into account new technological trends and utilize digital tools to improve the quality and efficiency of their work.

Sergey Tokarev, the Head of the Professional Development Department of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, emphasized that the program is oriented not only toward transmitting theoretical knowledge but also toward developing the practical skills required by specialists under conditions of digital transformation. It also provides for the exchange of experience and best practices among the participants.

The educational program is being implemented within the framework of an agreement between the Federal Tax Service of Russia and the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan on technical assistance in conducting training programs on tax methodology and tax administration. The initiative is aimed at developing the professional competencies of specialists and strengthening cooperation between the tax administrations of the two countries.

Ivan Efremov, the Rector of the FNS LAB Academy, noted that one of the key tasks of the program is to adapt the best Russian practices to the needs of the tax authorities of Uzbekistan, as well as to develop international professional interaction in the field of tax administration.
