Uzbekistan and Artan Holding Discuss Educational Cluster Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kungratbay Sharipov held talks with a delegation from Qatar’s Artan Holding led by company founder Natra Abdullah.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Executive Officer Nasser Al-Naimi, Executive Director Neil Comerford, Rector of City University Qatar Faris Gorashi, and Director of the Agency for Vocational Education Azimjon Khusanov.

The parties discussed reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan’s education system, the expansion of private sector participation, and the introduction of international educational programs. Special attention was given to a project to establish an international educational cluster in New Tashkent, which is intended to form a comprehensive educational ecosystem.

The project includes the construction of an educational complex that is planned to incorporate the British international day school DBS, the Glenalmond boarding school, a university based on the Ulster brand, and a vocational education academy. According to participants, the initiative aims to integrate different levels of education, from school to vocational and higher education.

The minister noted that Uzbekistan is consistently continuing reforms in education, expanding international cooperation, and strengthening the role of the private sector. He emphasized that forming a comprehensive educational ecosystem is one of the priority tasks aimed at developing human capital.

The parties noted that the educational cluster project aligns with the New Tashkent development strategy and may contribute to training qualified personnel, introducing international education standards, and developing a modern education system.

Following the meeting, further steps were discussed on implementing joint programs and training specialists in demand on the labor market.
