Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airports has summarized its performance for the first quarter of 2026, reporting steady growth across key operational indicators, including passenger traffic, flight numbers, and cargo volumes.

From January to March, airports across the country handled 30,859 flights, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. The majority of operations were international, with 22,885 flights, while domestic routes accounted for 7,974 flights.

Total passenger traffic reached 3,987,313 people. Of these, 3,323,759 passengers traveled on international routes, while 663,554 used domestic services. This represents a 19% increase compared to the first quarter of 2025.

Tashkent remains the country’s largest aviation hub, serving 2.56 million passengers and approximately 19,000 flights, accounting for the largest share of overall traffic.

Among regional airports, Samarkand recorded 376,400 passengers, followed by Urgench with 222,000, Namangan with 210,100, and Fergana with 161,200 passengers.

Cargo transportation also showed positive dynamics. Over the three-month period, Uzbekistan’s airports processed 19,783 tons of cargo and postal shipments, a 14% increase year-on-year.

The published data reflects continued growth in Uzbekistan’s aviation market, expanding international connectivity, and a gradual increase in domestic mobility.
