Uzbekistan, Afghanistan Expand Bilateral Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held on 14 April 2026 between Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, and Abdul Hai Kanit, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies and the Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.

During the talks, the sides reviewed key areas of bilateral cooperation in political-diplomatic and trade-economic fields. It was noted that contacts between the two countries are actively developing at various levels, creating additional opportunities for expanding cooperation.

The parties expressed mutual interest in making full use of the existing potential for engagement.

The negotiations took place in a constructive atmosphere and confirmed the intention to continue systematic and practical dialogue between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan in the future.
