Uzbek President Appoints Azizbek Urunov to Food Safety Committee

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree appointing Azizbek Urunov as Chairman of the Committee for Food Safety of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Under the document, Urunov will combine his new position with his duties as the President’s Representative for World Trade Organization (WTO) issues.

It is noted that since June 2, 2023, he has served as the President’s representative on WTO matters and has acted as the country’s chief negotiator within the international trade organization.

Elyor Talaboev has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Compliance and Internal Anti-Corruption Control. Following this appointment, he has been relieved of his post as Chief Inspector of the Secretariat of the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Furqat Jalilov has also been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Food Safety Committee. He has been relieved of his position as Chief Inspector of the Department of Legal Expertise and Comprehensive Analysis of the Presidential Administration.
