Uzbek big guns on track for grand finale

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek football fans can look forward to yet another clash of the titans in the Uzbekistan Cup in August.

The scenario unveiled after Pakhtakor matched archrivals Bunyodkor in collecting a big first leg win over their semi-final rivals.

Pakhtakor crushed Neftchi 4-1 while Bunyodkor had earlier thrashed Nasaf 3-0.

While Pakhtakor and Bunyodkor are involved in the AFC Champions League quarter-finals, Neftchi have qualified for the AFC Cup last eight.

Farkhod Tadjiev hit a hat-trick (27, 34 and 41) for Pakhtakor after Odil Ahmedov had opened their account in the 15th minute.

The second leg takes place on July 30.

Bunyodkor are the defending cup as well as league champions.
