UNDP Administrator Special Advisor arrives in Uzbekistan.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, Special Advisor to the Administrator of the United Nations Development Program Abdoulaye Mar Dieye will participate in the High-level International Conference.

Today, at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Assistant Secretary-General of the UN, Special Advisor to the UNDP Administrator Abdoulaye Mar Dieye arrived in the capital to participate in the High-level International Conference “Aral Sea Area - Zone of Environmental Innovation and Technology”.

The international conference, which will be held on 24-25 October 2019 in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, is aimed at discussing the draft Concept "Aral Sea Area - a zone of environmental innovation and technology", as well as a draft special resolution of the UN General Assembly on declaring the Aral Sea region a "Zone of Environmental Innovation and Technology".

During the visit, Abdoulaye Mar Dieye will also hold a series of meetings with representatives of ministries and departments in Tashkent.

Abdoulaye Mar Dieye was appointed as Assistant Secretary-General in early 2018. He previously held various senior positions in the UNDP system, including as Assistant Administrator and Director of the UNDP Regional Office for Africa.
