Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An informal summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States will be held on 15 May 2026, in Turkestan under Kazakhstan’s chairmanship. The main theme of the meeting will be the development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.

The event is expected to bring together heads of state and government from OTS member and observer countries, as well as the organization’s secretary-general. The Council of Elders and institutions involved in Turkic cooperation will also take part in the summit.

Participants are set to discuss priority areas of cooperation amid the rapid development of the digital economy. The talks will focus on the application of artificial intelligence, the introduction of innovative technologies and the development of digital infrastructure aimed at stimulating economic growth, improving public services and strengthening regional connectivity.

Organizers said the summit would serve as a platform for expanding strategic dialogue among Turkic states in the field of modern technologies and digital transformation.

The official program will also include a meeting of the OTS Council of Foreign Ministers, scheduled to take place ahead of the gathering of heads of state.

Holding the summit in Turkestan, regarded as the spiritual capital of the Turkic world, underscores the link between the shared historical and cultural heritage of Turkic peoples and their aspirations for technological development and a digital future.

The meeting is expected to contribute to stronger unity, solidarity and practical cooperation among member states of the Organization of Turkic States.
