Three Killed in Tashkent Road Accident Involving BYD Vehicle
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Three people were killed in a road traffic accident in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent, according to Millar.
The accident occurred on 16 June at around 03:10 on the Tashkent ring road.
According to the report, the driver of a Lacetti vehicle, born in 2002, attempted a sharp left turn at an intersection and collided with a BYD vehicle that was moving in the opposite lane.
As a result of the impact, the driver of the Lacetti and two passengers, born in 1998 and 2004, died at the scene.
It is reported that the BYD was driven by a minor born in 2010 who did not have a driving license. The vehicle was allegedly travelling at high speed and damaged a public transport stop after the collision.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which covers violations of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation resulting in death.
An investigation is underway.
