Uzbekistan Proposes Changes to Traffic Violation Cases

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has proposed changes to the procedure for documenting and reviewing administrative cases involving traffic violations. The relevant draft has been submitted for public discussion.

Under the draft, administrative cases involving traffic violations would be handled electronically through the Administrative Practice module of the Unified Automated Information System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Road Safety Service.

Materials related to administrative cases, physical evidence and digital evidence would also be submitted to courts electronically.

The draft proposes introducing the principle of extraterritoriality, allowing individuals and legal entities to submit applications concerning administrative cases at any regional center in the country. It also proposes using a one-stop-shop system and an open-space format to provide barrier-free services.

Tablets would be used when documenting violations. Electronic protocols would be confirmed using an electronic digital signature or fingerprint.

Decisions and notifications on administrative cases would be sent through mobile applications, SMS messages and personal accounts.
