Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- On 11 May 2021, the second meeting of the Uzbekistan-Canada parliamentary friendship group was held in the format of videoconferencing.
The event was attended by members of friendship groups of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada.
The first deputy of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Safoev took part in it and made a speech.
The issues of activating the work of inter-parliamentary friendship groups and expanding bilateral contacts between Uzbekistan and Canada, the possibility of an active exchange of delegations and a deep study of the experience of the two countries, accumulated to improve the work of legislative bodies, were considered.
The parties noted their readiness to continue building up partnership on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
The importance of continuing cooperation in the format of parliamentary friendship groups was noted. An agreement was reached on the exchange of visits of parliamentary delegations, as well as filling the agenda with new practical content.
