Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Residents of Tashkent will be able to search for jobs close to home through the 2GIS digital mapping service under a new initiative covering all 585 mahallas in the capital.
The Tashkent city administration and 2GIS have signed a memorandum of cooperation providing for the publication of job vacancies across the city’s mahallas.
The project is part of the 15-minute city concept, which aims to make essential services and opportunities accessible close to where people live.
Users of 2gis.uz will be able to view current vacancies, check advertised salaries and qualification requirements, and select suitable positions based on their skills and preferences.
The initiative is intended to simplify job searches, reduce commuting times and cut transport costs by helping residents find employment near their homes.
A pilot project has already been launched in all mahallas of Tashkent’s Chilanzar District, with the first active vacancies published on 2gis.uz.
The city administration said it was open to implementing similar projects in cooperation with other companies.
