Tashkent Teenagers in BYD Crash Into Bus

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two ninth-grade students from School No. 64 in Tashkent were involved in a traffic accident while driving a BYD car with its state registration plates removed, according to the Traffic Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the agency, the accident occurred on the morning of 15 June. The two classmates drove into the city in a BYD vehicle. One of the teenagers, who was behind the wheel, lost control of the car and collided with the rear of a Yutong bus.

Authorities said there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the accident, and no injuries were reported.

In a video released by the Traffic Safety Service, the father of the underage driver stated that the vehicle had been taken without the permission of family members. According to him, the family was unaware of the teenager’s intention to use the car.

Representatives of the Traffic Safety Service emphasized that such incidents could have resulted in much more serious consequences, including the risk of severe injuries or fatalities among road users.

An administrative protocol was drawn up against the teenager’s father.
