Tashkent, Nanjing Discuss Expansion of Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Hokimiyat of Tashkent city with a delegation led by Yu Zheng, Deputy Chairman of the Nanjing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

The delegation was received by Eldor Kholmatov, advisor to the Tashkent city hokim on local industry development. Representatives of the city’s tourism department and the departments for investments, industry, and trade also took part in the talks.

During the discussions, Yu Zheng noted that this was his first visit to Tashkent. He said he was impressed by the city’s combination of historical heritage and modern development, as well as its openness to innovation and international cooperation.

Tashkent officials, in turn, emphasized that further expansion of cooperation between Tashkent and Nanjing in economic, industrial, and agricultural sectors is of mutual interest and could strengthen practical collaboration between the two sides.

The Chinese delegation also invited representatives of the Tashkent Hokimiyat to participate in an international forum scheduled for October in Nanjing.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue developing contacts and to organize mutual business meetings between representatives of the business communities of the two cities.
