Yangiyul Launches 4-Hectare Greenhouse Using Heat Pumps
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Energy Minister Sherzod Khojayev inspected a modern 4-hectare greenhouse complex in Yangiyul district of Tashkent region that uses heat pumps for heating instead of gas and coal. The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan said.
The greenhouse complex was built by Yangiyo‘l – Agro Star LLC in the Bunyodkor mahalla of Yangiyul district using Chinese technology.
The heating system operates entirely on electricity through dedicated heat pumps.
Gas and coal are not used to heat the greenhouses.
The greenhouses are also equipped with a special heat-saving covering. During winter, it helps retain heat, while in summer it can be opened to maintain the required temperature inside the facilities.
Solar panels with a total capacity of 100 kW have been installed at the complex. They are expected to generate about 252,000 kWh of electricity annually, with around 24,000 kWh planned to be sold as surplus.
The conditions created in the greenhouses allow for up to three harvests a year, enabling the production areas to be used throughout the year.
The main construction work at the site has been completed. A 400 kVA transformer has been installed at the complex. Water supply has been arranged through seven water intake points.
The project incorporates a range of energy-saving solutions, including heat pumps, heat-saving covering and solar panels.
According to the Ministry of Energy, these technologies reduce thermal and electricity consumption and allow agricultural products to be grown without using gas or coal.
