Tanzila Narbayeva Meets Parliamentarians in Istanbul

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva held a series of meetings in Istanbul with parliamentary leaders of Azerbaijan and Belarus as part of international parliamentary events.

During talks with Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, the sides noted the steady development of interparliamentary relations between the two countries. They discussed prospects for further expanding cooperation, including the holding of the second Uzbek-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Forum, as well as the implementation of joint initiatives.

A separate meeting was held with a representative of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on International Affairs and National Security, Sergei Aleinik. The discussions focused on key areas of interparliamentary cooperation, including the organization of the next “Uzbekistan–Belarus” forum, meetings of parliamentary leaders, the holding of a forum of young parliamentarians, and the development of ties between regional representative bodies.

The sides emphasized that interparliamentary forums and профиль commissions remain an important practical tool for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
