Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Presidential candidate and incumbent head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev condemned an action on burning pages of a copy of the Koran in Sweden.

“We are absolutely against any form of radicalism and extremism, manifestations of disrespect for the religious values of different nations and peoples. In particular, we strongly condemn such an atrocity committed recently in Sweden as the burning of the Holy Koran,” he said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that such situations that offend the religion and noble feelings of millions of people on earth are completely unacceptable.

On the day of Eid al Adha, the Swedish police allowed activists to hold a protest near the largest mosque in Stockholm. The action with the burning of the Koran was carried out by a refugee from Iraq, 37-year-old Salvan Momika.
