Sergeli Car Market Reconstruction 95% Complete in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The reconstruction and modernization of the Sergeli used vehicle and spare parts market in Tashkent have been completed by 95%, according to the press service of the city administration.

The large-scale renovation project is nearing completion, with construction, repair, and design works almost finalized.

The modernization process, aimed at digitalizing trading operations and optimizing logistics, is being implemented with the support of the city administration.

According to deputy market director Rufat Mavlonov, the renovation covered the entire internal infrastructure of the complex, including administrative buildings, warehouses, retail shops, and parking areas.

The market territory has been divided into seven separate sectors, all of which are already fully operational.

One of the key objectives of the project was to address chronic traffic congestion on nearby roads.

To resolve this issue, an additional access road was constructed, allowing vehicles to enter, drop off passengers, and exit without disrupting main traffic flows.

Alongside physical upgrades, a major technological transformation has been introduced. Programmer Akmal Makhmudov presented a comprehensive electronic management system for the market.

The integrated platform includes automated modules for parking services and sales operations.

The system enables vehicle tracking without human operators and displays real-time data on the number of vehicles inside the market and available parking spaces.

Security at the upgraded facility is supported by 563 surveillance cameras equipped with artificial intelligence functions and an integrated face recognition system.

As part of the digital transformation, thousands of trading points, offices, warehouses, bank branches, and ATMs have been integrated into a unified digital ecosystem, enabling centralized automated management of all infrastructure at the Sergeli market.
