Saudi Arabia ready to hire 100 medical professionals from Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan have held talks with the leadership of the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia and the Vigour Locomotion Medical Center to discuss expanding cooperation in healthcare, recruiting Uzbek specialists into the Kingdom's private medical institutions, and implementing joint investment projects. The Dunyo news agency reported the development.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Human Resources Department of the Saudi Ministry of Health, along with the CEO of the Vigour Locomotion Medical Center, Wadha bint Saad Al-Hajri.
According to the Saudi side, private hospitals and medical centers in the country currently require approximately 4,500 foreign doctors and nurses. As an initial step, it has been proposed to employ 100 medical workers from Uzbekistan.
Under the proposed terms, the employer will fully cover the costs of processing the Iqama (residence and work permit), provide housing, pay for domestic transportation, and supply health insurance alongside an annual return air ticket.
Monthly salaries for young physicians will range from 4,500 to 5,600 Saudi riyals (approximately US$1,200–1,500), for experienced specialists from 5,600 to 9,300 riyals (US$1,500–2,500), and for nurses from 3,000 to 3,750 riyals (US$800–1000).
The highest demand is noted for general practitioners, obstetrician-gynecologists, physiotherapists, dermatologists, child psychologists, and maxillofacial surgeons.
Saudi representatives emphasized the high level of professional training, discipline, and diligence of Uzbek medical personnel, noting that fluency in the English language and adherence to professional ethics are distinct advantages.
During the negotiations, a project for the construction of a modern multidisciplinary health and wellness medical center in the Riyadh Province was also presented. The Saudi side invited Uzbek investors to participate in its implementation.
If the project is launched, there are plans to attract specialists from Uzbekistan across various trades, including builders, engineers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and drivers. Subsequently, the project will create additional jobs to maintain the operations of the medical complex.
Furthermore, Wadha bint Saad Al-Hajri, CEO of Vigour Locomotion Medical Center, announced that she will visit Uzbekistan in late July 2026 as part of an official delegation led by the Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia.
During the upcoming visit, meetings are scheduled with representatives from the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the Migration Agency, and the Zaamin Sanatorium to focus on the further development of bilateral cooperation.
According to Dunyo news agency, the agreements reached are aimed at expanding practical interaction between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia in healthcare, opening new employment avenues for Uzbek medical specialists, and strengthening bilateral investment ties.
