Samarkand Region and Deloitte Tohmatsu Sign Cooperation MoU

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Khokim of Samarkand region Adiz Boboev held official talks with Yoji Kawamura, head of one of the leading Japanese consulting companies, Deloitte Tohmatsu LLC.

The meeting, organized on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, was dedicated to expanding bilateral interaction and defining strategic targets for attracting long-term investments into the regional economy.

During the dialogue, the sides emphasized that building partnerships with Japanese business circles stands among the priority development vectors for Samarkand region.

The meeting participants paid special attention to mechanisms for high-technology transfer, the deep modernization of industrial infrastructure, and the integration of advanced international experience into the corporate governance framework.

The executives reviewed in detail the possibilities for attracting Japanese capital, drawing upon the multi-year expert experience of Deloitte Tohmatsu LLC in business consulting, developing investment cases, and implementing large-scale comprehensive enterprise transformation programs.

A presentation on the industrial and service potential of the region formed a separate block of the negotiations.

The parties noted a high readiness to launch joint projects and expand industrial cooperation in basic and high-tech sectors of Samarkand region, such as textile and electrical manufacturing, the production of modern building materials, the food industry, as well as the logistics complex and the tourism sector.

Additionally, practical steps were discussed to promote the investment potential of the region in Japan and to form a portfolio of promising startup and business initiatives.

The practical outcome of the meeting was the signing of an official memorandum of understanding, which will lay a solid foundation for activating direct investment interaction between the region and Japanese corporations.
