President signs resolution on the closure of Jaslyk colony

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on liquidation of Jaslyk colony in Karakalpakstan.

According to the resolution, the specialized penal colony No. 19 of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Karakalpakstan in Jaslyk village in Kungrad district — Jaslyk colony will be liquidated.

The head of Uzbekistan formed a Commission to implement a set of organizational and legal measures on liquidation of the Jaslyk colony.

Convicts held in Jaslyk colony will be sent to other penal colonies.

Buildings, structures and property of the colony transferred to the detention center №2 of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Karakalpakstan.
