President of Uzbekistan to visit Turkmenistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Turkmenistan on 24 August 2018, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

At the invitation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the head of Uzbekistan will take part in the meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS).

The IFAS summit will be held in the city of Turkmenbashi. The summit participants will discuss topical issues of cooperation of the Central Asian countries in improving the ecological state of the Aral Sea basin in the context of global climate change.

It is expected that, following the results of the meeting, the Joint Communiqué of the Council of Heads of States will be adopted.
