Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- In January - October 2020, 4,886 operating textile enterprises of Uzbekistan produced products worth 26.9 trillion soums. The index of the physical volume of textile production compared to January-October 2019 was 112.3%.
At the same time, production of cotton yarn increased by 8.7%, cotton fabrics containing 85% or more of cotton fibers-by 18.8%, packaging bags and packages by 24.4c.
The largest share in the total production of textile products by enterprises of Uzbekistan falls on the Ferghana region 14.9% (724 operating enterprises), Tashkent region 10.5% (393), Samarkand region 10.2% (359), Bukhara region 8.4% (321) and the city of Tashkent 8.4% (797).
In January-October 2020, the export of textile products made up US$1.52 billion, which accounted for 11.4% of the total export volume of the Republic and increased by 15.9% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Since the beginning of the year, 522 types of textile products have been exported to 65 countries.
