Uzbekistan exported cherries and grapes most of all

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-September 2020, cherries for US$188.3 million and grapes for US$118.6 million were exported abroad from Uzbekistan, Dunyo news agency reported with reference on the data of the Press Service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In third place with an amount of US$82.1 million are legumes. Dried fruits were exported in the amount of US$30.4 million, and nuts - US$19.6 million.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of exports of fruit and vegetable products for 9 months made up 1.08 million tonnes, and in value terms, exceeded US$696.1 million. 

In particular, 581,500 tonnes of vegetables worth US$255.4 million were sold abroad, as well as US$282,500 tonnes of fruits and berries worth US$276.3 million.

In general, the share of fruits and vegetables in the total export volume in January-September 2020 amounted to 5.6%.

The main export markets for fruit and vegetable products are in Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.
