Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- From 20-22 February, a delegation of the Uztekstilprom Association and industry enterprises were in Kiev, Ukraine to participate in the VIII-Uzbek-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission.
On 20 February, a business forum was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kiev with the participation of entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
During the event, a series of negotiations were held in B2B format with Ukrainian companies - potential consumers of Uzbek textile products, as a result of which export contracts worth 3.0 million dollars were concluded.
During the negotiations, issues of participation in international exhibitions held in the two countries were also considered, in particular, the participation of Ukrainian companies in the upcoming exhibitions “Uztextile Expo 2020”, CAITME 2020, held in Tashkent in the period from 9 to 12 September, as well as the provision of discounts on the exhibition site of Ukrainian companies, subject to their participation with their own stand.
In addition, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the T-Style company, Ukraine, on the establishment of a spinning mill in Uzbekistan with a total value of US$5.0 million.
At the end of 2019, exports of textile products (yarn, fabrics and knitted fabrics, sewing and hosiery) to the Ukrainian market reached US$30.0 million, in January 2020 - US$3.3 million.
