Portugal defeated Türkiye to advance to next round

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Portugal defeated Türkiye in the match of the 2nd round of the Euro 2024 group stage and secured access to the playoffs from first place in Group F.

In the 21st minute, Portugal striker Bernardo Silva opened the scoring.

Seven minutes later, Türkiye defender Samet Akaydin sent the ball into his own goal, doubling the Portuguese lead.

In the 56th minute, Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes, receiving a pass from Cristiano Ronaldo, brought the score to 3:0.

Now the Portuguese have six points. Roberto Martinez’s men are three points ahead of second-place Türkiye.

Due to the result of the head-to-head meeting, the Turks will not be able to beat the Portuguese. The Czech Republic is in third place in Group F with one point, and Georgia also closes the table with one point.
