Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Accident Involving Cobalt in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian has been reported in Tashkent, according to the press service of the city’s Department of Internal Affairs.
The incident occurred on 25 April at approximately 17:40 on the Tashkent Ring Road in the Yakkasaray district. Authorities report that a 37-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt struck a 77-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the roadway in an unauthorized location.
The pedestrian died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.
Following the incident, the Investigation Department of the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which covers violations of traffic safety rules resulting in human death.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing to determine all circumstances surrounding the accident.
