Pakistan’s Fatima Group explores investment in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — One of Pakistan’s largest business conglomerates, Fatima Group, is considering launching production facilities in Uzbekistan.
Discussions on the matter were held in Lahore during a working visit by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev. He met with the company’s Chief Executive Officer Ali Mukhtar, according to the “Dunyo” news agency.
Founded in 1936, Fatima Group is among Pakistan’s leading industrial holdings. The company operates in fertilizers, textiles, sugar production, energy, packaging, mining, and trading sectors.
In 2025, the group reported annual revenue of 2 billion US dollars. Its structure includes 10 fertilizer production plants and more than 70 storage facilities across the country.
During the talks, both sides discussed expanding investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, noting that Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for foreign investors.
Particular attention was given to potential joint projects in pharmaceuticals, textiles, chemicals, and mining industries.
Ali Mukhtar stated that Fatima Group plans to conduct a detailed study of the Uzbek market and later consider establishing a production facility in the country.
The company previously visited the Namangan region in 2023 to assess its investment potential.
The project remains among the group’s priority directions, while consultations are also ongoing with the administration of the Navoi region on possible investment initiatives.
The sides also discussed the possibility of establishing a high-tech pharmaceutical production facility, exporting products to Middle Eastern and Gulf markets, and developing large-scale industrial projects in chemical and textile sectors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold online negotiations involving relevant authorities to further develop areas of cooperation.
