Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A gas cylinder explosion involving a Nexia-2 passenger car in the Mubarek district of the Kashkadarya region has resulted in the death of one person and left two others injured and hospitalized. The incident was reported by the press service of the Emergency Situations Department of the Kashkadarya Region.
According to the departmental data, the accident took place on July 8 at approximately 07:32 AM at the 128th kilometer of the A-380 "Karshi — Bukhara" highway, which passes through the territory of the "Kuruvchilar" neighborhood council (mahalla).
The vehicle, driven by a 54-year-old resident of the Karaulbazar district of the Bukhara region, was heading toward Bukhara from the city of Karshi when the installed methane gas cylinder suddenly ruptured and exploded while the car was in motion.
As a result of the powerful blast, one of the passengers inside the vehicle died on the spot from severe injuries. Two other individuals sustained wounds of varying degrees of severity and were immediately transported by emergency medical services to the Mubarek District Medical Association for urgent treatment.
Officials from the Emergency Situations Department highlighted that despite the force of the explosion, no subsequent fire broke out inside or around the severely damaged vehicle.
Law enforcement bodies, led by the Mubarek District Police Department, have launched a formal pre-investigation inquiry into the accident to determine the structural failure or safety violations that triggered the fatal cylinder explosion.
