New thermal power plant put into operation in Syrdarya region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- A new thermal power plant was put into operation in Khavast district of Syrdarya region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

The Turkish company Cengiz Enerji has built a gas piston thermal power plant. The power of the TPP is 220 MW. The station can generate 1.7 billion kWh of electricity per year.

On 20 November, 2022, the TPP began supplying energy to the power grid of Uzbekistan.

The Ministry of Energy notes that the high efficiency of the equipment saves 150 million cubic meters of natural gas.
