Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the Navoi Region of Uzbekistan, work is underway to eliminate the consequences of mudflows caused by heavy rainfall observed in the area.

According to the information service of the Navoi regional administration, mudflows occurred in several districts as a result of the natural disaster. Evacuation measures have been organized in a number of mahallas, and emergency recovery operations are being carried out with the involvement of special equipment.

It is noted that response and recovery work is being conducted in the Karacha, Kuchchi, Langar, Angidon, Oltynsay, and Maydon mahallas. In these areas, roads and affected sections are being cleared, and infrastructure is being restored.

In particular, work continues on the territory of the Khatyrchi Vocational Construction College and in the Oltynsay mahalla. In the Mustaqillik mahalla of Khatyrchi district, relevant services are taking urgent measures to reinforce and clear the mudflow channel.

Employees of district emergency units, road maintenance enterprises, and local government bodies have been involved in the response operations. A total of 37 units of special equipment and 173 personnel are engaged in the work.

It is reported that measures to eliminate the consequences of the mudflows are continuing on a continuous basis.
