Mirziyoyev Visits Crown Ceramic Plant in Kuvasay

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the joint venture “Crown Ceramic” in the city of Kuvasay and reviewed the production process of porcelain stoneware tiles.

The country continues to prioritize the development of import-substituting and export-oriented industries based on local raw materials. At present, Uzbekistan operates 47 ceramic tile manufacturing enterprises, which produced 47.2 million square meters of products last year, meeting 128.6% of domestic demand.

The Crown Ceramic enterprise was established in 2025 as part of a decree aimed at the socio-economic development of the Ferghana region. Its production capacity is 8 million square meters of porcelain stoneware per year.

The plant is expected to produce goods worth 1 trillion soums, generate added value of 665 billion soums, and export products worth US$35 million.

Local raw material usage reaches 97%, with supplies mainly coming from Kuvasay and Angren. The production process consumes around 600 tons of sorted stone, 100 tons of red kaolin, and 100 tons of gray kaolin daily.

The enterprise produces large-format porcelain stoneware, which is relatively rare in Central Asian and Eastern European markets, offering six product formats.

All production processes are fully digitized and equipped with energy-efficient technologies. Environmental solutions have also been implemented, including dust collection systems, filtration, and water recycling. A closed-loop water purification and rainwater collection system is in place.

Thanks to modern technologies, electricity consumption in raw material preparation has been reduced by 20%, and parts of the facility utilize natural lighting.

The plant’s products are competitive in quality and technical characteristics with those from Italy, Spain, and China. In January–March of the current year, 80,000 square meters of products were exported to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan for US$400,000, with plans to expand exports to Kazakhstan, Russia, and European countries.

Work is also underway to localize the production of glaze materials.

A new project worth US$20 million is planned, with an annual capacity of 50,000 tons of glaze production. It is expected to create 100 additional jobs and increase exports by US$10 million.

The President emphasized the importance of such projects for regional industrial development through deeper raw material processing and increased value-added production.
