Mirziyoyev Receives Serbia’s Highest State Order
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been awarded Serbia’s highest state honor, the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a Grand Chain. The award ceremony took place in Belgrade as part of the Uzbek president’s official visit.
The award was presented to Mirziyoyev by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. The order was conferred for Mirziyoyev’s outstanding contribution to strengthening multifaceted Uzbek-Serbian relations.
Accepting the award, Mirziyoyev expressed his deep gratitude for the high honor. The Uzbek president said he viewed the order not only as a personal recognition but also as a symbol of the Serbian people’s deep respect for Uzbekistan.
According to the president, the award also reflects the strengthening of friendship between the two countries and their firm commitment to further developing bilateral ties.
The Order of the Republic of Serbia is the country’s highest state honor. It is awarded to prominent foreign figures for outstanding contributions to strengthening peace, cooperation and mutual understanding among peoples, as well as developing friendly relations with Serbia.
