Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent condolences to the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in connection with the numerous casualties, injuries, and large-scale destruction caused by flooding in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and a fire in Fujian Province.

The head of state expressed words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured.

According to available reports, at least 39 people died as a result of the flooding in Guangxi, with another nine people currently listed as missing.

The second tragedy involved a fire that broke out on 9 July 2026 at the Huiteng shoe factory in Jinjiang County, Quanzhou City, located in Fujian Province. There were 239 people inside the building at the time of the fire. While 213 people were successfully evacuated during the rescue operation, 28 people lost their lives.
