Mirziyoyev and Aliyev Discuss Trade Growth and Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during his working visit to Baku, where the sides discussed the further development of strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Uzbek leader congratulated the Azerbaijani side on the successful organization of the World Urban Forum held in the capital.

The discussions focused on the practical implementation of agreements reached during previous high-level contacts. Both sides noted positive dynamics in trade and economic relations, stating that mutual trade turnover has increased by more than 40% since the beginning of the year.

It was also reported that joint projects are being actively implemented in construction, mining, energy, agriculture, and tourism. Special attention was paid to accelerating ongoing initiatives and expanding the investment portfolio, including through the attraction of resources from a joint investment company.

The talks also covered the development of transport connectivity and international transport corridors of strategic importance for strengthening regional integration.

The sides further discussed the schedule of upcoming high-level contacts and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
