Masharipov Ruled Out of FIFA World Cup 2026 Squad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Midfielder Jaloliddin Masharipov of the national team of Uzbekistan will miss the FIFA World Cup 2026 due to injury, the Uzbekistan Football Association said.

The association stated that the player had been without regular game practice for an extended period and was unable to fully participate in training sessions. The national team’s medical staff took necessary measures to support his recovery, and the player followed an individualized training program.

Medical examination results were submitted to the FIFA medical committee. After reviewing the materials, the committee concluded that the player would not be able to take part in the upcoming World Cup.

As a result, Ruslanbek Jiyanov has been included in Uzbekistan’s final squad for the tournament in place of Jaloliddin Masharipov.
