Light industry of Uzbekistan produces goods for 10.55 trln. soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Enterprises of light industry of Uzbekistan increased production of goods by 16.1% year-on-year in 2014 and reached 10.555 trillion soums.

The volume of production of ginnery enterprises made up 4.114 trillion soums (+7%) and without ginneries – 6.441 trillion soums (+22.7%).

Share of industry in total volume of industrial output of Uzbekistan made up 14% in 2014, which rose 0.8 percentage point compared to 2013, the State Statistics Committee said.

The enterprises of textile industry produced godos for 7.803 trillion soums (+12.7%), including enterprises of cotton manufacture industry – 2.261 trillion soums (+23.1%), knitted industry – 720.4 billion soums (+15.1%) and silk industry – 117 billion soums (+14.6%).

The enterprises of clothing industry increased output by 29% and leather-footwear industry – 20.5% in the reporting period.
