Tashkent Steps Up Street Watering Amid Extreme Heat

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent has introduced additional watering of its central and main streets to reduce the impact of high temperatures and lower dust levels.

City authorities said the work is being carried out daily under a special schedule and will continue until air temperatures stabilise.

The programme is being organised by the Tashkent Hokimiyat and the Main Department of Public Amenities with the assistance of the Road Safety Department. The work is being carried out during periods of the day when vehicle and pedestrian traffic is at its lowest.

According to the organisers, the schedule is designed to ensure road safety, minimise inconvenience for residents and maintain more comfortable conditions in the city during the hot weather.
