License of STV channel suspended, Sevimli receives warning

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The interdepartmental coordinating commission on improving and increasing the efficiency of information activities and data transmission decided to stop the work of the Samarkand-based television channel STV for an indefinite period. At the same time, the Tashkent-based Sevimli TV channel received a strict warning.

This decision was made in connection with the demonstration of materials of an unacceptable nature.

In particular, the Sevimli TV channel showed on the air a film with bed scenes and music clips of foreign performers with phrases in lyrics that could have a negative impact on the upbringing of youth and do not correspond to national values.

The STV channel on air showed a cartoon for adults and a film that was included in the list of tapes, which are not recommended for demonstration and distribution on the territory of Uzbekistan.
