Border Crossing to Sokh District Granted International Status
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A border checkpoint providing access to Uzbekistan's Sokh district has been granted international status.
The decision will allow foreign nationals to cross the border through the checkpoint and is expected to create new opportunities for the district's development.
Previously, foreign tourists and potential investors were unable to enter Sokh through this crossing, as it was not open to citizens of third countries.
According to the official statement, granting the checkpoint international status marks a new stage in the socio-economic development of the Sokh district. The move is expected to promote tourism, attract investment and expand international engagement.
The statement also noted that the decision became possible following agreements reached in recent days and reflects Uzbekistan's policy of openness.
